Wall with door/window openings: pier designsimplified pier model

Uses the wall length, thickness, loads and materials from the wall design above, and the storey height from the seismic section. Openings are spaced evenly.

Piers act in parallel over the opening height (fixed-fixed, flexure + shear stiffness) and in series with the solid wall above. Coupling beams over the openings are not designed: check them with the beam tool.

Scope: regular buildings, lateral force method (T1 ≤ min(4 TC, 2 s), no significant higher modes), no ductile detailing (DC) rules beyond minimum steel, wall distribution for one direction only, no coupling or openings. Results are an aid only and must be verified by a qualified, licensed engineer before use. National Annex presets are recommended values and must be checked against the official documents.
